The Encouraging Word

The Encouraging Word is the spiritual outgrowth of the television ministry of FBC. Launched in 2005, The Encouraging Word is an extension of the FBS television ministry. The strength and expertise of our FBS media ministry parented TEW which now has grown and is sending the television ministry to greater heights.

Chip Acker, chairman of the media committee, says, "I am thankful that the leadership of First Baptist Spartanburg in 1956 had the foresight to begin building a foundation in television and media for future generations."

"Today, as digital broadcast media becomes main stream, you can watch videos on your cell phone, iPod, PDA, and other portable devices," he continues. "I am looking forward to being a part of the team that follows God's direction for our church in the coming years as we continue to make changes to build all of our ministries for future generations."

The Encouraging Word can now be seen and heard all over the world. We have had responses from viewers in all fifty states and many foreign countries.
